I’m going to be honest here. I NEVER listened to Prince (aside from what was on the radio way back when), so this was new to me. So, I gave this an honest listen. The first thing I was surprised by is that the “O” in the title was actually a peace sign.
I wasn’t surprised by anything else, though. This was exactly what I thought it would be. Ok, but not something that I will sit down and listen to (on purpose, anyway) ever again.
Well, o.k., I’ll listen to Shockedelica again, but only if it’s sung by Ween. ‘Cause they know how to actually make it funky. Prince did o.k., but if you want to feel the real heart of this tune, check out L.M.L.Y.P. by Ween. Now THAT is art.
One other note – I will watch the video for U Got the Look, because hey, Sheena Easton.
