Could have sworn this was The Band when it started out, sounded almost like “The Weight”. Then I realized it wasn’t that, and really not the same overall.
Then I thought that it was like Bob Dylan, since he sang about being stoned, or implications of that sort. Then I thought, “Hey, this is NOT Bob Dylan, because not everyone must get stoned”, so I thought a little more.
Then it occurred to me that it reminds me of Rush. But then I thought – dude, are you high or stoned or something (thinking about Bob Dylan can have that effect)? This is entirely not Rush, in any way.
Then Moondance came on, and I thought, “Hey, this sounds like Van Morrison”, and guess what? It was! What a coincidence! Crazy love just reinforced that impression (which, I would like to point out, was correct, so meaningless internet points to me!)
Then the rest of the album helped my assertion that this was, indeed, Van Morrison. So take that, I was right after all.
